Stern’s Agent Don Buchwald Dead

Don Buchwald, the well known talent agent whose client list most notably includes Howard Stern, died Monday, July 22 at the age of 88 at his home in Massachusetts, according to TMZ, which notes that Buchwald died of natural causes.

Buchwald, whose bi-coastal agency, BUCHWALD handles a number of high profile clients, his biggest client was Stern. As TMZ notes: “DB repped Howard personally, while also acting as his manager and publicist. HS was Don’s single personally handled client … and Howard referred to ‘Superagent Don Buchwald’ over the years on the radio. Indeed, Buchwald was instrumental in helping Stern land a mega-deal at SiriusXM worth an estimated $90 million a year.

Late Monday, Tim Sabean, President Sabean Media, and the the creator of the Howard Stern Channels on SiriusXM (right, with Buchwald), posted this photo and sentiment to Twitter/X: “I lost my closest pal today… you left an iconic legacy… I miss you with all my heart and soul. RIP my dear friend. Tim.”

Steve Cohen, former SiriusXM SVP of Sports Programming, posted: “RIP my dear Don from Bensonhurst. An incredible friend, mentor and philanthropist. When I was down you lifted me up. You made me smarter, wiser and taught me to be a deep thinker. Amazing that we first bonded over NY Giants football. Deepest condolences to the Buchwald family.”
