Great news for the many fans of Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, the animated cult classic Comedy Central series — — Dr. Katz is making his triumphant return on June 8, this time as an audio series on Audible! That’s the scoop from our pal Rob Barnett, who is now Sr. Director, Channels Marketing at Audible, so we imagine his inside info is pretty accurate. Similar to the concept of the original Comedy Central series, Jonathan Katz stars as a Hollywood shrink who treats a cast of famous clients, and once again, some of the biggest stars in comedy will play themselves as patients in weekly 15-minute therapy sessions with the good doctor — Sarah Silverman, Ted Danson, Ray Romano, Margaret Cho, Weird Al, Maria Bamford, Pete Holmes, Dana Gould, Emo Philips, Ron Funches, Andy Kindler and more!
The series premieres on Thursday, June 8, with the first three episodes, including an episode with Sarah Silverman. Season 1 includes 15 total episodes, which will be released every Thursday through August. Audible Channels service is free with an Audible membership and for Amazon Prime members, and is also available to purchase as a standalone offering for the low, low price of $4.95 a month.
