• We are very happy for our friend and former R&R colleague Darnella Dunham, who was just promoted to Sr. Director, Digital Content for Radio One. Ms. Dunham has spent the past six years with Radio One’s digital division, Interactive One, where she most recently served as Director, Social & Studios.

In a staff memo, Chief Digital Officer Mark Charnock made it official, stating, “I’m pleased to announce that Darnella Dunham has taken on an expanded role as Senior Director, Digital Content with both our syndicated talent at Reach [Media] and in social for our local markets.” He added, “Darnella’s work with talent like Rickey Smiley and other Reach personalities has led to incredible social engagement and those skills can now be deployed company-wide.”

• Alexx Dupri has been named morning show co-host on Ohana Media Group Rhythmic Top 40 KFAT/Anchorage, AK (where it was a balmy -15 degrees yesterday). Dupri plugs in across from existing wake-up co-host Mike LaJoie to co-pilot the newly rebranded Alexx & Mike AM Takeover. She succeeds KFAT PD (and former morning co-host) Scott “Lugnut” Dwyer, who slides into afternoon drive.

Ms. Dupri (left) is a major market vet who previously worked at WGCI/Chicago, WDTJ/Detroit and KRBQ/San Francisco, to name a few. She relocated to Alaska last summer and has been doing part-time and fill-in on KFAT, most recently covering afternoons in the wake of Don Megga‘s departure in November. “I’m very pleased to have Alexx front the morning show on KFAT,” said Dwyer. “Her experience and professionalism are unparalleled in the market, she connects with our listeners and she’s got mad skills, yo!”
