America Marches For Kids’ Lives
While the eyes and ears of the world were riveted to Saturday’s massive March For Our Lives events that blanketed over 800 locations worldwide, much of the activity was centered on the main march in Washington, DC. Crowd estimates ranged from several hundred thousand to nearly one million participants in our Nation’s Capital, while huge crowds took to the streets in hundreds of American cities of all sizes. As expected, many radio professionals wisely mirrored the sentiments of their listeners and actively participated in their local march.
Bert Weiss (above, left), host of Westwood One’s The Bert Show, travelled to Washington D.C. with his children and his girlfriend to participate in the DC event. At the same time, fellow syndicated star Elvis Duran (above, right) joined thousands of fellow marchers in the New York City parade, but he did visibly show his support for the DC march — he generously chartered two busses to transport several dozen students from Staten Island to Washington so that they could actively participate.
• Meanwhile, back in Atlanta, The Bert Show‘s show’s flagship station, Cumulus Top 40 WWWQ (Q100), fellow syndicated star Adam Bomb (left) and Q100 night jock Byron (second from right) were live from the Atlanta march on Saturday morning.
All weekend long Q100 supported the cause by giving away March For Our Lives shirts.
