Beasley Nurtures Next Generation

• The Inaugural Beasley Radio Talent Institute begins today at Emerson College in Boston. Beasley Media Group CEO Caroline Beasley and EVP/COO Brian Beasley will lead off the first session today, following opening comments from Dr. Lee Pelton, President of Emerson College and Jeff Greenhawt, VP & Managing Partner of Sunshine Wireless Company and Chair, Emerson Board of Trustees. Fred Jacobs of Jacobs Media will lead second session, “How Technology is Transforming Radio Careers,” followed by Joseph F. D’Angelo, SVP of Broadcast Radio from Xperi with a session on “HD Radio Technology and the Future of Broadcast in the Vehicle.”

Mary Menna, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Media Group Boston will be the closing speaker ten days from now; in between, many members of her Beasley Boston team will be leading sessions, along with broadcasters from Entercom, iHeartMedia, Hall Communications and others, including the play-by- play announcers of the Patriots, Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox. The students, who come from nine different universities in the Boston region, including Emerson, will learn from over 40 broadcast pros during the course of the institute. They will spend Wednesday visiting Beasley’s Boston radio complex, and return on Friday as the live studio audience of the Loren and Wally Morning Showon Classic Hits WROR.

The Beasley Radio Talent Institute of the National Radio Talent System is a ten-day immersion in all things radio — from on-air in music radio, sports, news, production, promotions, engineering, digital and social media and sales, including the RAB’s Radio Marketing Professional Certification course. All students attend every session — there are no breakout sessions.

“From the beginning, Caroline Beasley grasped the vision and immediately stepped up. They are a company that does the right thing in our industry,” said Dan Vallie, Founder and President of the National Radio Talent System. “We are proud to be working together to continue growing the farm system; discovering, coaching and incubating young talent with a passion for radio. It’s a privilege to be able to do this with Emerson College, and to be working with forward-thinking companies like Xperi, Marketron, Benztown and VCreative to help make it happen.” To learn more, contact Dan at 704-246-8185 or danvallie@nationalradiotalentsystem.com.
