Clarke & Audacy Parting Company

RAMP has learned that Tim Clarke will be exiting his role as Audacy SVP of Digital Audio Content at the end of March as his contact expires and his position eliminated as the company restructures.

The news of Clarke’s imminent departure was shared in a staff memo from Chief Digital Officer JD Crowley, which reads, in part, “Over the past two years, Tim has helped Audacy make significant strides in our digital transformation plans. Tim is a wonderful creative executive, a great friend and colleague to so many of us, and has been a strong leader of our teams. I am grateful for his many contributions to our team and the company.”

Crowley added, “As part of our efforts to streamline, flatten, and further integrate our organization, we will not be replacing Tim’s role. The leadership team, together with Tim’s input, is currently evaluating how to best align our resources across our various digital and programming teams with the goal of increasing our execution speed, continuing to improve the quality of our listener experience, and eliminating internal siloes wherever possible.”

Clarke joined the company formerly known as Entercom in March 2021, initially as SVP/Market Manager of Entercom Boston. In October of that same year he was elevated to SVP, Digital Audio Content on the company’s central digital team as Mike Thomas returned to Boston as his successor as Market Manager.

Clarke previously spent some 16 years with Cox Media Group, rising to VP of Content & Audience. Clarke’s earlier CMG roles include Director of Branding & Programming for WPOI (Hot 101.5)/Tampa, Director of Social Media for all six of CMG’s Tampa properties, PD of WAPE/Jacksonville and MD of WBLI/Long Island. In 2011, Clarke was honored by Edison Research as one of their “Top 30 Under 30” in media.

Clarke can still be reached through the end of March at Tim.Clarke@audacy.com.
