Clive Davis On Radio
Cumulus News-Talk 77 WABC/New York welcomed the legendary Clive Davis, Chief Creative Officer at Sony Music Entertainment, to its Stage 17 performance space yesterday. Speaking with WABC entertainment reporter Mike “Gunz” Gunzelman, Mr. Davis promoted the premiere of the music-themed documentary, Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives, which opened the TriBeCa Film Festival last night at Radio City Music Hall, followed by performances by Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, Earth Wind & Fire, Barry Manilow, Carly Simon and Dionne Warwick.
Davis also discussed his early days in the industry as well as his years working with the legendary Whitney Houston and iconic artists including Simon & Garfunkel and Bruce Springsteen. Davis also spoke of radio’s unmatched ability to create hits and of his feelings about the state of music today, calling radio “vital.”
