Executive Action
• RAMP has confirmed that Cumulus Chicago VP/Market Manager Peter Bowen has exited. Cumulus SVP Dave Milner made the announcement in a 10am staff meeting on Thursday. We understand that Milner will cover management duties from Chicago a few days a week until a permanent replacement is named.
Bowen had been in place since March 2015, transitioning from CBS Radio Los Angeles, where he was SVP/Director of Sales for the six-station group. Prior to that, Bowen spent 16 years with CBS Radio Chicago, serving as Senior Vice President/General Manager of WBBM (B96) and WJMK, and as VP/Director of Sales for the Chicago cluster.
• Cumulus Media has appointed Cheryl Salomone as VP/Market Manager for its four-station group in Fayetteville, NC — WMGU (Magic 106.9), WQSM (Q98), WRCQ (Rock 103) and WFNC-AM — effective October 2.
Salomone segues from Pamal Broadcasting in White Plains, NY, where she had served as Director of Non-Traditional Revenue and Local Sales Manager for Triple A WXPK (107.1 The Peak). She previously served as VP/Market Manager for Adams Radio Group in Salisbury-Ocean City, MD. Earlier in her career Salomone worked for Townsquare Media as Regional Vice President for Tri-Cities and Yakima, WA and GM of the company’s Billings, MT group.
Mark Sullivan, Regional Vice President of Cumulus Media, said, “I’m thrilled to have Cheryl on our team. We’re privileged to have a manager of her caliber and track record of sustained success leading the charge for our great stations in Fayetteville.” Salomone remarked, “I’m privileged to be joining the talented and passionate team in Fayetteville and thrilled to be returning to North Carolina. I look forward to the great things we will accomplish together. I would like to thank Mary Berner, Bob Walker and Mark Sullivan for this wonderful opportunity to join Cumulus Media.”
