Forgy Elected To BFOA Board

• The Broadcasters Foundation of America has elected Chris Forgy, President & CEO of Saga Communications, to its Board of Directors. The vote took place last week during the Broadcasters Foundation Board meeting in New York City. The Broadcasters Foundation is the only charity devoted exclusively to providing financial assistance to broadcasters who are experiencing devastating illness or tragedy and need help.

In making the announcement of Forgy’s election, Scott Herman, Chair of the Broadcasters Foundation, said, “Chris is a well-respected leader in the broadcast industry, and I’m delighted to welcome him to our Board. His input will be valuable as we continue to deliver aid to our colleagues who are in desperate need.”

“I have always believed in giving back to the industry that has allowed me to be of service to local communities,” stated Forgy. “Colleagues who have fallen on extremely difficult circumstances need and deserve our support. I am honored to serve on the Board and contribute to the Foundation’s charitable mission.”

Prior to being named to his current position, Forgy spent nearly five years as Saga’s Chief Operating Officer. Before that, he oversaw Saga’s four-station cluster — WSNY, WNND, WVMX & WLVQ — in Columbus, OH. Earlier in his career Forgy held various roles at Nationwide Communications, Susquehanna Broadcasting, Rodriguez Broadcasting, and Great Trails Broadcasting.

Like Chris Forgy, the Broadcasters Foundation’s Board of Directors is comprised of highly respected broadcast executives who are committed to “giving back” through the Broadcasters Foundation. Board members represent a wide array of broadcast and broadcast-related companies.
