Kid Kelly Exits SiriusXM
• UPDATED: In a surprising turn of events, RAMP has confirmed that veteran programmer and air personality Kid Kelly has exited SiriusXM after nearly two decades with the company. Kelly most recently served as SiriusXM’s VP of Pop Music Programming and was the architect and PD of HITS 1 and several other key channels
A SiriusXM spokesman confirmed Kelly’s departure, telling RAMP, “After a long tenure at SiriusXM, Kid Kelly is no longer with SiriusXM, and we wish him the best in his new endeavors. His programming responsibilities are being taken over by SiriusXM Vice Presidents Alex Tear and Lou Simon.”
Kelly started his radio journey in 1983 and notably spent over a decade with the legendary WHTZ (Z100)/New York, rising to Operations Manager in 1998. He is also the creator and host of the long-running syndicated show, Backtrax USA. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2018. You are advised to stay tuned for further developments.
