Kiss Today Goodbye…
• We want to send our best wishes out to Joe Mazzei, longtime Marketing Director of iHeartMedia’s WXKS (Kiss 108)/Boston, who has resigned after 25 years to embark on a new career chapter — he has accepted the position of Director of Marketing with Big Night Entertainment Group, the team that runs Grand, Scorpion Bar, Empire, Red Lantern and many other cool Boston venues.
Commenting on his successful quarter-century run with Kiss 108, Mazzei tells RAMP, “I was a kid who grew up in Boston listening to Kiss 108. I started here as an intern with Matty In The Morning and have literally done almost every job at Kiss — street team, on-air, Promotion Manager, Public Relations and Marketing Manager — literally everything but sales. I also produced Kiss Concert and Jingle Ball.”
On Sunday, Mazzei produced his final Kiss Concert, and as he notes, “It was only fitting that Backstreet Boys closed the show — I interviewed them for one of my first Kiss Concerts back in 1998, making my experience truly come full-circle.”
While Mazzei is looking forward to his new opportunity, he will always look back fondly on his 25-year experience at Kiss 108, commenting, “To have been able to work with people like Steve Rivers, John Ivey, Matty, Dale Dorman, JJ Wright, Romeo and others has been a dream come true. I will miss all my friends at iHeart, both locally and nationally.”
