Loftus Reaches Peak Of Seven Mountains
• Pennsylvania-based Seven Mountains Media has spent the past four years acquiring a portfolio of 28 signals from six different owners in ten markets. CEO Kristin Cantrell has been searching for the perfect COO to execute that vision, and who better to fill that position than a guy bearing four decades of Pennsylvania radio management experience — say hello to Jim Loftus, who was most recently President & CEO of WBEB/Philadelphia. Loftus (pictured) began his radio career as a teenager, and over the course of 40 years has established an impressive track record of success highlighted by top management positions with Lin Broadcasting, Susquehanna and nine years with Shamrock (now Times-Shamrock) as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining WBEB in Sept. 2015, Loftus spent a decade with CBS Radio Philadelphia, rising to GM of Classic Hits WOGL and Director of Sales for the cluster.
Cantrell commented, “I can’t imagine a better ambassador to lead the way. We have built a team of people and a group of radio brands and advertising products that have an incredible synergy with our listeners and advertisers. Jim has the big-picture experience and track record to help our company succeed in a fast-paced, ever-changing market place. We’re honored that he has chosen Seven Mountains Media as his new home.”
Loftus will assume the helm as COO on November 1 and will be based out of the company’s State College, PA market, which is centrally located to Seven Mountains’ other markets — Dubois, Lewistown, Huntingdon, Selinsgrove, Bloomsburg, Wellsboro/Mansfield and Sayre, PA. Loftus commented, “I’m very excited to be joining Kristin Cantrell and her management team at Seven Mountains Media. As a 41-year Pennsylvania broadcasting veteran, I’ve watched this company create a big footprint of local radio stations and build a digital media platform serving listeners and advertisers across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I feel blessed to join such an innovative group. It’s a great time to be in Radio!” Please feel free to congratulate Jim on his new journey at jloftus@7mountainsmedia.com.
