Lori Lewis Leaving Cumulus/Westwood One

• Industry veteran and social media maven Lori Lewis announced her departure as VP of Social Media for Cumulus Media and Westwood One after three years. She will be announcing her new destination soon.

Lewis broke the news in a Facebook post that read, “Often times we see people signing or resigning contracts. This is not the case. This is me actually signing my *release* from the current company I work for. And I couldn’t be more excited. It’s important to push ourselves out of our comfort zones from time to time and learn what else we are capable of. I cannot wait to share this next phase of life with you.”

Lewis’ radio career spans over 25 years, starting as an air talent on the syndicated Bubba the Love Spongeshow, and then on to Baltimore, where she programmed WFXB (B104.3)through its transition toWSMJ.

In a move to help radio grow both digitally and socially, Lewis made the decision to leave the world of day-to-day radio programming in 2008 and created the new position — Director of Digital and Social Strategies — for Duke Wright‘s Midwest Communications. In March 2011, Jacobs Media tapped Lewis in a similar role to help their clients’ digital and social needs. In May 2015, Lewis was recruited by Lew Dickey to join Cumulus as Vice President, Social Media.

Since 2015 Lewis has also served as Chair of the Conclave Learning Conference, who, along with the Conclave Board, using her considerable skills and industry connections to help revitalize the heritage Minneapolis-based convention, which just celebrated its 43rd year of serving the radio industry. We look forward to sharing the news of where Lori is about to land next — in the meantime, she can be reached at llkcek@gmail.com.
