Four individuals from the radio industry — representing sales, marketing, programming and digital — are selected annually for the MIW Group Mentoring Program. Beasley Media Group, LLC is the lead sponsor of this year’s program. Caroline Beasley, CEO of Beasley Media Group, remarked, “It is an honor to support the MIW Radio Group’s mission of promoting women in the radio industry.”

Now in its 17th year, the MIW Group’s signature mentoring program matches up-and-coming women in the radio industry with female professionals recognized as leaders in all aspects of Radio. To date, the MIW Group Mildred Carter Mentoring Program has successfully mentored a total of 43 mentees. “Each year, we receive an abundance of applications for this coveted program and are encouraged by the caliber of female colleagues working in the radio industry,” said Lindsay Cerajewski, Chair of the 2018 MIW Group Mentoring Committee and General Sales Manager of Entercom, Chicago. “We welcome our Class of 2018 and can hardly wait to open a few doors, impart some new knowledge and provide guidance to help them reach their personal goals.”

The program is named in the memory of Mildred Carter, who, along with her husband, Andrew “Skip” Carter, founded the first African American-owned radio station in the U.S. in 1950, when they launched KPRS/Kansas City.
