More Cumulus Cuts Emerge
• And the hits just keep coming, as Cumulus makes more painful pre-holiday layoffs. The latest casualty is Laura St. James (pictured), who exits her Program Director/midday position at Hot AC WXLO/Worcester-Boston after seven years. She also held down PD/afternoon duties at Top 40 sister WQGN (Q105)/New London, CT for the last three years.
St. James’ lengthy radio resume also includes six years as PD of Cumulus AC WLEV/Allentown, PA and many years in programming at iHeartMedia Top 40 WAEB (B104)/Allentown, where she started her career. She also has major market experience doing weekend at WNSH, WNEW & WLTW/New York City, and at WBEB/Philadelphia. Laura is now available for meaningful conversations at lserpiello@gmail.com.
• Correction: Yesterday when we reported the departure of Bobby Irwin, longtime OM of Cumulus Colorado Springs, we inadvertently noted that he was also PD of Top 40 KKMG (98.9 Magic FM). In fact, Irwin programmed Classic Rock 98.1 KKFM and AC KKPK (92.9 Peak FM). “During my 26 years I added and subtracted stations based on cluster needs,” he explains. “I’m proud of the professionals and characters with whom I had the chance to serve… we achieved some amazing things. I’m looking forward to what the future holds!” Irwin can now be contacted at bobbyirwin@outlook.com.
• Since yesterday, several more Colorado Springs departures have come to light: Mason Stanfield, PD/Morning Host on KATC (Cat Country 95.1), along with his co-host, Stella Girkin; Bobby Adan, Promotions Director & morning co-host, KKPK (92.9 Peak FM); and “Captain Dan” Jackson, weekends 92.9 Peak FM. Stansfield can be reached at MasonStanfield@gmail.com.
