New CMG Announces New Leadership
• Cox Media Group announced the executive leadership of the new CMG. A company memo outlines the executives that will assume their new roles once the regulatory review process has been completed and the transaction with Apollo officially closes.
As was previously announced, Cox Media Group President Kim Guthrie will assume the title of CEO of the new Cox Media Group. Brett Fennell, currently CFO and EVP of National Advertising Platforms will assume the new title of EVP & Chief Financial Officer; Marian Pittman, currently Executive Vice President of CMG will become EVP, Content, Product & Innovation; Bill Hendrich will serve as EVP, Radio; Paul Curran will assume the role of EVP, Television; Mary Ellen Marcilliat-Falkner will be upped to EVP & Chief People Officer, and Heidi Eddy-Dorn will serve as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer & Corporate Secretary
Among the new members joining the CMG executive leadership team is Paul Curran, a 24-year Cox veteran. He started at KTVU/San Francisco, later moving to WPXI/Pittsburgh, and then to Atlanta as CMG VP of Sales. He’s currently the Market Vice President for Orlando, overseeing all TV and radio operations. Paul’s deep broadcast and media experience will serve him well in his new role.
The memo continues, “As we position the new company for growth and scale, we’ve made the strategic decision to expand the executive leadership team to include our current general counsel, Heidi Eddy-Dorn. Heidi joined Cox Auto in 2010 and has 20+ years of large law firm and corporate legal experience. She has served as the general council for CMG since 2017 and has played a pivotal role in the transaction. Jane Williams, our current EVP of Television, has announced her desire to retire, following the completion of the transaction. Her career with CMG spans the last 30+ years and her many contributions can be seen across our business.”
