NRG Media Ups Luchs, Fielder
• NRG Media LLC just announced two executive promotions: Kurt Luchs has been named General Manager the company’s seven-station Omaha cluster, earning the big transfer after five years of leading NRG’s four-station group in Wausau-Stevens Point, WI. Concurrently, Wausau Director of Sales Aleese Fielder is promoted to General Manager.
NRG Media President/CEO Mary Quass said, “The goal of NRG Media is to be a destination company for our team to build a career, so I’m very excited to be able to promote from within. These promotions are well deserved — together, Kurt and Aleese turned Wausau around and helped make it one of the most successful markets in the company. We like to reward a job well done and these moves are a definite win-win for two very talented teams.”
Luchs is no stranger to the Omaha market, having started there with NRG as the GM for Waitt Radio Networks, which the company owned at the time. Luchs said, “My best experiences in radio have been with this company. I’m excited about returning to Omaha and seeing what the team there will accomplish next with its incredible brands and people.”
Before joining NRG, Fielder worked as a GSM and GM for Cumulus, among others. “Working for NRG Media has been the most rewarding experience of my career, and I’m honored to receive the promotion to General Manager of the Wausau/Stevens Point cluster,” Fielder said. “I’m blessed to have a remarkable team of highly talented and extremely dedicated radio professionals at all levels within the market. The continued growth and success of all four stations is at the forefront of everything they do.”
