Saga Seeks Gainesville-Ocala GM
• We recently reported that Saga Communications, Inc. is in the process of expanding into the Gainesville-Ocala, FL market with the pending purchase of Country WOGK-FM (K-Country 93.7) and Classic Rock trimulcast WNDT-FM, WNDD-FM and WNDN-FM (WIND-FM 92.5, 95.5, 107.9) from Ocala Broadcasting Corporation, LLC.
Saga President/CEO Ed Christian remarked, “At the end of this year we are closing on some amazing stations in Gainesville-Ocala, Florida and the GM told us well in advance that he is retiring. He has spent decades in radio and we certainly understand this. The stations are WOGK, which has been a runaway No. 1 in the market for oh so many years and the WIND Classic Rock trimulcast, which well covers the entire market.”
Christian (pictured) continued, “Quality of life is incredibly good (just check it out for yourself and you will do a silent ‘wow’). Similar to other Saga markets, the GM will be sales-centric and sales-sensitive. These stations are nicely profitable with tremendous upside, with the growth of the market and adjoining markets. Listen to your inner self. Is it time to make a move? Is it time to look for your final move that can provide you with the excitement and professionalism that brought you into radio in the first place? If it is, then we should talk.”
In conclusion, Christian said, “Send me some preliminary information. I do promise you that all will be confidential with honest dialogue. No fast talking, no quick sell, no false promises — just the opportunity of a great career with a committed-to-quality radio company.” Interested management professionals are invited to email their intentions to edchristian@sagacom.com.
