Wilson Stepping Down As Alpha Media Chairman
• As RAMP was wrapping up late Sunday evening, Alpha Media announced that Founder Larry Wilson is stepping down as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He will remain a member of the Board.
As the release states, in part, “Under Wilson’s guidance, Alpha Media has become the largest privately-owned radio broadcast company in the United States, operating 225 radio stations in 48 markets across the nation. Wilson is also known for his work within the country music industry, having served on the Board of Directors for the Country Music Association from 1991 to 2001 and inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.”
“Wilson is a respected colleague and pioneer in the broadcast industry,” said Bob Proffitt, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Media. “His vision helped craft today’s broadcast and radio landscape.” Alpha Media will elect a new Chairman at their next scheduled board meeting.
