Christian To Mornings On WECK/Buffalo
• Radio One Buffalo, LLC Full Service WECK Radio (Oldies 102.9/100.5 FM & 1230 AM)/Buffalo, NY announced that market legend (and Buffalo Broadcasting Hall of Famer) Roger Christian, has been named as the new host of the revamped WECK More Music Morning Show, effective Monday, October 28.
Christian (pictured, below) recently joined WECK as a swing-shift personality and host of “The WECK Road Show” after spending 43 years across the street at Entercom Hot AC WTSS (Star 102.5). “We’re thrilled to have Roger on our team,” said WECK President Buddy Shula. “WECK will be playing more music in the morning, but we’ll continue serve our listeners with the critical information they need to start their day.”
With Christian now anchoring the new streamlined WECK morning show, weekdays from 6-9am, Tom Donahue and Gail Ann Huber are stepping aside, as is market icon Dan Neaverth, who had been doing the Monday morning show. All three have been offered various roles moving forward at WECK. Shula said, “I can’t say enough about the professionalism of Tom and Gail, especially for their great work as we inaugurated the new WECK during the last couple of years.”
PD Glen Topolski commented, “WECK has made some amazing accomplishments in the Buffalo market, as a locally-owned, independent operator. We expect our listeners will enjoy hearing Roger — and now even more oldies on WECK.”
