Cubby & Christine Will Lite Up NY
• In the wake of the departure of longtime morning co-host Bob Bronson, iHeartMedia AC WLTW (106.7 Lite FM)/New York promised to name a successor very soon, and the station didn’t disappoint, tapping beloved cluster vet Paul “Cubby” Bryant to roll his Aeron chair across the hall from his current wake-up spot on sister WKTU, joining forces with Lite-FM co-host Christine Nagy to create the all-new Cubby & Christine In The Morning, weekdays from 5-9am, starting Tuesday, May 28.
“Cubby is one of New York’s most entertaining and highly respected on-air personalities, and we’re incredibly excited that he’ll be joining the Lite FM family,” Chris Conley, PD of Lite FM and iHeartMedia AC Brand Manager. “Cubby & Christine’s unique chemistry, combined with their engaging personalities and dedication to their listeners make them the perfect duo and an incredible addition to an already stellar Lite FM lineup.”
Bryant said, “I’m ecstatic about this next chapter in my career with iHeartMedia. After 10 years at Z100 and 13 years at 103.5 KTU, I’m ready to start a long run at 106.7 Lite FM. I have a huge passion for the format, and I’ve known Christine since 1996 from our Z100 days and have always been fond of her on and off the air. How do you pass up mornings in America’s No. 1 media market at one of America’s top radio stations? I want to thank iHeartMedia for granting me this opportunity, and I’ll work my butt off to keep this baby on top and the Lite shining bright.”
Nagy remarked, “I’m so thrilled to begin this new venture doing mornings with my friend Cubby. We’ve known each other since our days at Z100, but this will be our first opportunity to do a show together! Cubby is an amazing on-air personality and incredible person and with having Producer Jamie on board, we are going to have so much fun working together on morning drive and I can’t wait for our Lite FM family and listeners to join us. Here we go Cubby, and welcome to the team!”
Back at WKTU, Bryant’s longtime co-host Carolina Bermudez will remain in mornings and will welcome a new co-host soon. Stay tuned.
