Cubby Set To Break 30-Year NYC Barrier
• Over the weekend our longtime friend, Paul “Cubby” Bryant shared the big news that he just signed a sweet new four-year extension to continue toco-host morning drive at iHeartMedia AC WLTW (106.7 Lite FM)/New York.
Bryant has been a beloved drivetime fixture on New York radio since 1996, when he made the major move from KRBE/Houston to Z100, where he held down afternoon drive for a decade. He later crossed the hall to do mornings on sister WKTU, a successful 13-year run that lasted until May 2019, when Bryant transitioned over to Lite FM, where he teamed up with co-host Christine Nagy.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled about this opportunity to continue working with such an incredible team at the No. 1 station in the No. 1 market,” Bryant tells RAMP. “It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received along the way.”
Bryant continued, “As I reflect on this new contract, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride knowing that it will take me past the 30-year mark on New York radio and iHeartMedia. It’s truly humbling to have been a part of this industry since 1988, from Norfolk to Houston, and then NYC.” He added, “I’m looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead.”
Fun Fact: Cubby’s voice is still heard in his hometown of Virginia Beach, as he tracks afternoon drive on iHeart sister WMOV (MOViN 107.7). Your best wishes can be shared with Cubby at CubbyBryant@iheartmedia.com.
