Angi Taylor Ready To Rock Chicago
• Angi Taylor, longtime morning co-host on iHeartMedia Top 40 WKSC (103.5 Kiss FM)/Chicago, made some big news this morning when she announced her departure from the Fred & Angi show and big move across the hall to anchor her own morning show on the company’s recently launched Rock outlet, WCHI (Rock 95 Five), starting this fall.
James Howard, Regional SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Chicago, said, “Angi Taylor’ss love of music and life in Chicago makes her the ideal host to help kickstart any rock fan’s day. She is unfiltered, undeniable and her lust for life is contagious, I can’t wait to listen.”
Taylor remarked, “I’ve been working 22 years for the moment that I could host my very own morning show. I can’t express how much it means to me that my dream is coming true on Chicago’s ‘Rock 95 Five!’ Thank you, iHeartMedia, 103.5 Kiss FM, and all the listeners for letting me into your lives every day.”
Taylor previously worked at iHeartMedia Top 40 sisters KDWB/Minneapolis and WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia before making the move to Kiss FM Chicago in 2008, where she was originally paired with Kevin “DreX” Buchar. Frederick replaced DreX in 2011 and the show was rebranded as Fred & Angi In The Morning.
• According to Chicago’s own media maven Robert Feder, Rock 95 Five is in the process of assembling an entire airstaff, including middays, afternoons, evenings and weekends, and everyone is expected to debut simultaneously with Taylor.
