Pinfield Seriously Ill After ‘Massive’ Stroke
• On Jan. 8 RAMP first reported that veteran radio and television personality Matt Pinfield had been hospitalized after suffering a “medical event” on Monday evening, Jan. 6. At the time we had access to some inside information that the “event” in question was, in fact, a stroke, but had no other details as to the seriousness of his condition, so, out of respect for Matt and his family, we didn’t speculate or offer any further info, waiting instead for a qualified source to release any authorized updates.
We are now very sorry to report that TMZ has gone ahead and publicized Matt’s stroke as “massive,” further reporting that Matt’s daughter Jessica has filed documents with the Los Angeles Superior Court petitioning for temporary conservatorship, stating that her father is now “incompetent to make health and financial decisions.” The story goes on to claim that Jessica and her sister Maya are concerned that Matt’s girlfriend Kara, who reportedly has access to his bank accounts, will withdraw his money. The daughters say their father needs temporary conservators to oversee his finances and apartment.
While we await further updates on Matt’s condition, we join Matt’s legions of friends and fans and continue to keep positive thoughts that he may make a full recovery and eventually return to his afternoon drive shift on KCSN (88.5 The SoCal Sound)/Los Angeles, and his Sunday evening specialty show, New & Approved on 95.5 KLOS/Los Angeles.
