ALT Makes Pit Stop In Spokane
• iHeartMedia has extended its “ALT” brand into the Spokane, WA market, as Country KIIX (KIX 96.1) gives way to ALT 96.1, The New Alternative. We are told that the awesome new call letters KFOO will be official by the end of the month. Don’t panic, Country fans — KIX has moved up the dial to translator-powered 99.3, the former home of Contemporary Christian UP 99.3 — which has moved to 98.1 HD2.
To the shock and surprise of pretty much no one, ALT 96.1 is the new Spokane home of the company’s syndicated The Woody Show weekdays from 6-10am. “We’re thrilled to bring the new ALT 96.1 to Alternative music fans throughout the Inland Northwest,” said Brad Miller, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Spokane. “We know our listeners will love The Woody Show and quickly discover why it’s been called ‘happy hour on the radio.'”
Woody added, “Much like the flu, we are a problem… spreading and infiltrating cities across America. It’s too late for Spokane, but they are a strong people, and will survive this.”
