Fogel Sticking Around At WLS-FM

• While there was no formal press release issued, RAMP has independently confirmed that Chicago radio pro Dave Fogel has indeed been extended for another three years in mornings at Cumulus Classic Hits WLS-FM. The news was initially reported by Chicago media maven Robert Feder, who reports that WLS PD Wade Linder confirmed the deal to keep Fogel on the morning show with co-host Kim Berk through 2022. Terms were not disclosed.

Fogel is on his second tour of duty in mornings on WLS-FM — he first worked there from 2010 to 2012, then spent the next five years across the street doing mornings on former CBS Radio Classic Hits WJMK (104.3 K-Hits)until Nov. 2017, when the sale to Entercom closed and the “I couldn’t be happier to be with 94.7 WLS for — at least — another three years,” Fogel told Feder. “We’ve got a great thing going on over here. It’s an awesome feeling to stay where I know I’m wanted.”

station flipped to Classic Hip Hop as WBMX (104.3 JAMS). He was hired back on WLS-FM in Jan. 2018.

Fogel has been a familiar presence on Chicago radio since 1996, previously working at WTMX (101.9 The Mix) and the late WLUP (97.9 The Loop). Fogel started his radio career in Kansas City and has also worked in San Diego, Washington, DC and Detroit.
