Kalina Wakes Up On WOGL/Philly
• Stand by for the official announcement, but RAMP has learned that Philly radio legend Glenn Kalina has plugged back into the airwaves of the City Of Brotherly Love, as he debuts Monday morning on Entercom Classic Hits WOGL, hired as the new co-host for Marilyn Russell.
Kalina broke his own news via Facebook on his birthday last week, when he excitedly posted, “You made this birthday unlike any other! This birthday became EXTRA special as I signed with Entercom and 98.1 WOGL as Morning Show Host with Marilyn Russell beginning this Monday, November 18th!”
Kalina arrives bearing a rich Philadelphia radio history, dating back to the legendary WCAU, where he worked from 1980-88. He went on to program WIOQ (Q102) for 11 years, followed by a stint in mornings on the former WLCE (Alice 104.5) and the former WNOW/Philly until 2009.
More recently Kalina spent seven years with Greater Media (now Beasley) Classic Hits WJRZ/Monmouth-Ocean, rising to PD/mornings, staying until Jan. 2015, when he resigned to focus on his V/O career.
