Shannon’s Blythedale ‘Big Show’ Friday
• For nearly three decades, Scott Shannon has been an passionate supporter of the great work being done at Blythedale Children’s Hospital, by hosting an annual pre-Christmas benefit show, and raising more than $4 million over the years. We are pleased to report that tradition continues — virtually — this year, as Scott Shannon in the Morning with Patty Steele on WCBS-FM/New York will broadcast their final Big Show of the year tomorrow morning to entertain the patients and raise money for Blythedale Children’s Hospital’s Traumatic Brain Injury program. “Our calendars are marked every year for this special broadcast, which gives us to opportunity to showcase the selfless generosity of the WCBS-FM listeners,” said Shannon. “We look forward to another heartwarming day of spreading holiday cheer with our friends at Blythedale.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this beloved in-person, holiday tradition is being held on-air only to protect the health and safety of Blythedale’s medically complex population, but that minor limitation won’t prevent Scott and Patty — and some very special guests — from bringing some love and holiday magic and love via closed-circuit tv to patients and staff!
Tomorrow’s “Big Show” will feature performances from Kelly Clarkson, Matchbox Twenty lead singer Rob Thomas (back for his 21st consecutive appearance), Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, Billy Joel‘s longtime saxophonist Mark Rivera and Tim McLoone with Holiday Express.
