Big Jim Inks Equally Big Extension

• Beasley Media Group has authorized a sweet new multiyear renewal deal with Big Jim O’Brien to keep him showing up every day to host the Big Jim’s House morning show on Classic Rock WCSX/Detroit. The veteran Motor City on-air personality has worked at WCSX for a total of 18 years, the last six anchoring the dawn patrol.

“It’s been an honor to create the Big Jim’s House morning show on 94.7 WCSX with the support of everyone at Beasley Media Group,” said O’Brien, who is shown here under the supportive gaze of VP/Market Manager Mac Edwards, making the deal feel somewhat official. He added, “Thank you to Caroline Beasley, Brian Beasley, Justin Chase, Scott Jameson and Mac Edwards. I’m very proud to be associated with such amazing professionals and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Jameson, who serves as Beasley’s VP of National Content and Director of Detroit Programming, commented, “Jim has ALL the key qualities of an engaging on-air talent — he’s prepared, generates fresh ideas, and always puts the listener first. We’re thankful to have Jim with WCSX & Beasley Detroit.”
