New Fox AM Show: Cause For Alarm

• And you are hereby advised to set that alarm for 5:55am today, as Bonneville Classic Rock KUFX (98.5 K-Fox)/San Jose, CA has officially put the South Bay on notice that a brand new morning show is launching this morning — San Jose’s Great Radio Experiment skillfully combines the talents of existing K-Fox morning host Joey V, afternoon stud Chris Jackson, and K-Fox PD Karina Farias.

San Jose’s Great Radio Experiment is touted as San Jose’s only LIVE and LOCAL morning radio show, airing weekdays from 6-9am PT. The new show marks a return to mornings for Bay Area radio vet Jackson, who used to helm the K-Fox wake-up show until April 2018, when fellow market vet Joey V. (KRBQ/San Francisco) was hired to do mornings and Jackson shifted into afternoon drive. We are told that Jackson will continue to do afternoons, albeit a shorter shift.

“Congratulations to Chris Jackson, celebrating 30 years of rock radio excellence on KFOX,” said Brian Figula, Director of Programming Operations for Bonneville San Francisco/San Jose. “Joey, Chris and Karina’s unique chemistry has already resonated with rock fans all over the South Bay.” 98.5 KFOX, celebrating 30 years as the South Bay’s Classic Rock station, is also the radio flagship of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks radio network.
