The Drive Gives Five Vets Pets
• Chalk up yet another successful “Give a Vet a Pet” campaign for the Sherman & Tingle morning show on Hubbard Classic Rock WDRV (97.1 FM The Drive)/Chicago, as the show, in partnership with the American Veterans Service Dog Academy (AVSDA) for the fifth time, set out to once again raise funds to help provide service dogs to local veterans who are suffering from PTSD. The costs associated with providing each service dog total $15,000.
With all of the monetary donations now confirmed, the Sherman & Tingle Show raised over $78,000 — enough to pair five separate service dogs with veterans who would greatly benefit from the positive effects, emotional support and companionship these dogs provide.
Commenting on this amazing achievement, hosts Brian Sherman and Steve Tingle said, “Year after year, we’re just amazed at the generosity of our Drive listeners. Their support of this important cause has such a positive impact on the lives of Chicago-area veterans who benefit tremendously from living and working with these service dogs.”
American Veterans Service Dog Academy (AVSDA) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit charity organization that specializes in pairing and training companion, emotional support, and certified service dogs with military veterans coping with the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress.
