WAXQ/NYC Honors Dr. King

• To honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and to mark the 50th anniversary of his passing, iHeartMedia Classic Rock WAXQ (Q104.3)/New York is playing U2’s “Pride (In the Name of Love)” 50 times throughout the day – once for every year since the assassination of Dr. King.

In the lyrics of the song, U2 explores Dr. King’s impact on the American Civil Rights movement and his ability to bring about change through peaceful protest. Twice every hour listeners will also hear highlights from some of Dr. King’s iconic speeches, followed by the U2 tribute song.
