CMG Performs Jacksonville Swap

• Cox Media Group (CMG) Jacksonville yesterday pulled off a daring daylight pre-holiday frequency swap on two of its stations — AC WEZI (Easy 106.5) has moved to 102.9 FM (becoming Easy 102.9), while Alternative WXXJ (X102.9) now resides in its new location as X106.5.

At the same time, the newly rebranded Easy 102.9 became the first station in the market to make the Christmas flip, becoming “Jacksonville’s New Home for The Holidays” on an enhanced signal that can now be heard from Brunswick, GA to southern St. John’s County, FL. “Our Easy listeners told us they wanted a larger signal, and we listened!” said CMG Jacksonville Market VP Dan Lawrie. “We felt this was a great time to introduce Easy on 102.9 FM and no better way to do that than to be the first radio station in Jacksonville to play Christmas music.”

X106.5 will continue to play the same great Alternative music that Jacksonville has come to know and love.
