Condolences: Bo J. Spates
• The staff of iHeartMedia Country WLLR/Quad Cities, IA is still reeling from the sudden death of afternoon drive personality Bo Jeffrey “Bo J.” Spates, who apparently died in his sleep during the overnight hours of Saturday into Sunday.
On Monday, SVP of Programming Jim O’Hara conducted an on-air tribute to Spates during what would have been Spates’ regular 1-6pm shift. As the station posted, “Bo leaves behind a beautiful daughter, Charly, who is a member of the National Honor Society at Rock Island High School, a member of the golf team, and involved in many other school activities. At work, Bo J was always bragging up Charly’s accomplishments…and it was clear that he was BEYOND proud of her and loved her dearly. As his co-workers at iHeartMedia in the Quad Cities, we decided to start a GoFundMe page to help out with Charly’s future college expenses.”
According to the Quad City Times, visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday.
