Country Morning Show News
• RAMP has it on very good authority that veteran Country morning duo Tony Randall and Kris Rochester, better known as Tony & Kris, will be resurfacing as the new morning show on Cumulus Country WIVK/Knoxville. You are advised to tune in this morning at 8am to hear the official announcement as the guys are formally introduced as the successors to Andy Ritchie and Alison Mencer, who recently announced their retirement after 20 years.
Tony and Kris have been a team for 25 years and are best known for their decade-long run on KSON/San Diego, followed by a move to crosstown KUSS. The guys recently wrapped up their lengthy syndication run with United Stations.
• Saga Country WPOR/Portland, ME morning show co-host Sarah Sullivan is transferring back to AC sister WZID/Manchester, NH, where she will become a member of the highly rated morning show starring Neal White & Marga Bessette. As OM/Brand Manager Pat McKay explains to RAMP, “Sarah will be doing traffic reports on both WZID and WMUR-TV. She’ll also participate in the fun/content side of the show.”
The move makes logistical sense for Sullivan, who used to work at WZID, and still has a home in Manchester. McKay added, “We’re excited to bring Sarah back to WZID and to New Hampshire to fill this important position.” Sullivan succeeds Deb Davidson, who steps down to spend more quality time with her family… and sleep past 3am.
