Ty, Kelly & Chuck Survive Accident
The cast and crew of the Cumulus-syndicated Ty, Kelly & Chuck morning show are fortunate to be alive and relatively unscathed after they were involved in a very serious car accident while on their way to Mardi Grad in New Orleans. Hosts Ty Bentli, Kelly Ford and Chuck Wicks and Producer Glenn “Qtip” Johnson were driving from Columbus, Mississippi to New Orleans on Monday evening in a severe rainstorm when their car hydroplaned, flipped over and rolled twice.
RAMP caught up with Glenn Johnson, who explained, “We were heading to New Orleans, driving through a storm when the car suddenly hydroplaned and rolled over into the median. We’re all very lucky — thank God for seatbelts and airbags!” Everyone was transported by ambulance to a hospital in nearby Hattiesburg, MI for evaluation. Johnson added, “Everyone is OK — we’re just all banged up and sore. The hospital kept Chuck overnight to check him out and he’ll be out soon.” Wicks reportedly suffered a fractured vertebra.
Giving you a stark idea of the severity of the accident, Kelly Ford yesterday tweeted this photo of the crushed car with the comment, “We are all genuinely feeling lucky to be alive today. Thanks for your prayers, messages and texts. They mean more than you could know.”
