Eagle Flies Higher In Augusta
• UPDATED: iHeartMedia performed some post-Daylight Saving format shifting in Augusta, GA, dumping Classic Country from WLUB-FM (106.3 The Bull Icons) and in its place relocating its Classic Rock Eagle brand up the dial from 102.3 to 106.3.
iHeartMedia recently announced it was spinning off several stations in its Aloha Station Trust, including WEKL (the current home of Eagle 106.3) to Educational Media Foundation (EMF). To protect the quarter-century Eagle franchise, the format and branding are moving to the 106.3 frequency, powered by translator W292EE.
“It’s been 25 years since Eagle first came on-air,” said PD Cliff Bennett. “Yes, we’ve moved a couple of times around the dial, but Rock music never dies. We just couldn’t take this great and long-running station away from all its fans and loyal listeners in the Augusta River Region.” Here is the full weekday jock line-up for The Eagle — John Boy & Billy Big Show (6-10am); Cliff Bennett (10am-noon); Maria Milito (noon-3pm); Ken Dashow (3-7pm); Big Rig (7pm-midnight); BMan John Beaulieu (midnight-6am).
