Festive Holiday Flips
• iHeartMedia AC KOST/Los Angeles couldn’t keep the public waiting any longer — at 5pm Friday, afternoon drive host, Mark Wallengren flipped the switch and kicked off the station’s longtime holiday music tradition.
“This is the 16th consecutive year that KOST 103.5 has provided the soundtrack for the season to Southern California,” said PD John Peake. “We’re honored and excited that each year millions of listeners make KOST 103.5 a part of their families’ holiday traditions.” He added, “During the 2016 Holiday Season, KOST 103.5 averaged more than 5.2 million listeners weekly, making KOST one of the most listened to radio stations in the country during that period.”
• It’s also beginning to sound a lot like Christmas in that magical land known as Ft. Wayne, IN, as Sarkes Tarzian AC WAJI (Majic 95.1) began playing all-Christmas music last Wednesday afternoon.
As OM Captain Chris said, “Majic is also sponsor of the city’s HolidayFest featuring the ‘Night of Lights,’ where we join together to light up Downtown Fort Wayne with the iconic Santa and his reindeer, the 30th Anniversary lighting of the Merry Christmas Wreath, Northern Lights and more to kick off the Holiday fun!”
