Formats You’ll Flip Over
At noon yesterday, after a few days of stunting with “moving”-themed songs, SummitMedia Richmond makes it official, flushed the format on ratings-challenged Top 40 Hot 106.1 (WURV-HD2) in favor of Sports-Talk — the new Sports 106.1 will become the newest affiliate of CBS Sports Radio. Featured shows and personalities include The Jim Rome Show, Gio and Jones, The DA Show and many more. Virginia native and NFL standout Tiki Barber will be enjoyed daily from 3-6pm ET on the Tiki and Tierney Show.
“Richmond is a fantastic market for us to be in and CBS Sports Radio is excited to partner with SummitMedia to launch a major sports outlet,” said Eric Spitz, PD of CBS Sports Radio. “The combination of great sports content and the opportunity to be on an FM signal have us positioned for continued success.”
Bob Willoughby, SummitMedia Richmond Market President seconds that emotion, commenting, “Richmond is a passionate sports town. Sports 106.1 will provide area sports fans with what they have been wanting for a long time — an FM station that can be heard all over the metro 24 hours a day.”
