The Jeff & Jenn Show on Entercom’s WSTR (Star 94.1)/Atlanta is proud to announce a starting donation of $40,000 to “Reese’s MaGIC Fund” at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). The MaGIC Fund is named after Reese Rivera, the very brave daughter of Star morning show co-host Jenn Hobby who has successfully battled — and beaten — cancer. This newly created fund is earmarked to help doctors treat other children through the Malignant Germ Cell International Consortium (MaGIC), lead by Dr. Thomas Olson and Dr. Megan Durham at CHOA’s Eggleston campus. “Reese’s MRI shows no residual signs of a tumor, and no signs of cancer,” Hobby said, “and there are simply no words for the gratitude we feel for her medical team. Because ‘thank you’ seems insufficient, this is our way to express it.”
The funds raised came from listener donations, as well as proceeds of Jenn’s “Big Deal Birthday” event last month at The Vista Room in Decatur. This marks the first major charitable donation from The Jeff & Jenn Show since launching on Star 94.1 on year ago. “CHOA does such great work with the children they help, as witnessed by us with the treatment they gave Reese,” said Mike Fowler, VP/GM of Star 94.1. “We are so grateful and just wanted to find a way help other families going through this trying time. We really want to thank all of our listeners who so generously donated to this worthy cause.”
