KNRJ: New Format, Morning Show
• Over the holidays Sierra H Broadcasting Classic Hip Hop KNRJ (101.1 The Beat)/Phoenix made the switch to Rhythmic Top 40. Please make a note of it. While the “Beat” branding remains intact, PD Fred Rico wanted us to introduce you to the Beat’s new morning show — The Wake Up Crew features Jackie Morales, who is teamed with former KNRJ weekend talent Adrian Hernandez. Ms. Morales is a market vet who used to work across the street at KKFR and the former KZON (now KALV).
The new show succeeds Nina Cruz, who left during the holidays
The rest of the existing fulltime Beat airstaff — midday talent Lady Stephanie, afternoon jock James Rivas, Jr. and evening entertainer Evette Victoria — remains unchanged.
