Buffalo Legend Sandy Beach Signing Off
• RAMP has learned that Buffalo, NY radio icon Sandy Beach will be signing off from his 9am-noon show on Entercom News-Talk WBEN-AM 930/Buffalo at the end of the month, closing out a 23-year run — just over half of his half-century local radio career.
A staff memo from “Tim & Tim” (SVP/Market Manager Tim Holly and OM/Brand Manager Tim Wenger) reads, in part, “With a broadcast career spanning an impressive 52 years, Sandy broke into the business as a disc jockey for WWKB/Buffalo back in 1968 and has since worn many hats, including music director, program director, talk-show host and game producer for our hometown Buffalo Bills gameday broadcasts. His commitment to excellence and dedication to delivering exceptional content for over half a decade, while never unnoticed within the walls of Entercom Buffalo, has not been lost both locally and nationally.”
The memo continued, “Sandy is a deserving member of three Halls of Fame — the New York State Broadcasters, Buffalo Broadcasters and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.” In closing, the memo stated, “We’re very excited for Sandy as he closes out an illustrious career with WBEN. He has been a pleasure to work with and I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors. Congratulations Sandy!”
