Condolences: Gantry ‘Wolfgang’ Miller

• The Des Moines, IA radio community is mourning the tragic and untimely death of Gantry “Wolfgang” Miller, co-host of The Drive with Wolfgang and Steen on Cumulus Sports-Talk KBGG-AM (1700 The Champ)/Des Moines, IA, who died Tuesday, March 19. According to WOI-TV (Local 5), Miller, 44, was driving eastbound on I-80 at 9:45am when he pulled over on the shoulder, exited his vehicle and was struck by a semi-truck. Authorities say Miller died at the scene. The accident is currently under investigation.

Miller was a well-known member of the local sports community and had frequently appeared on The Champ as a guest over the years. He was hired to co-host the afternoon drive show in December.

Jack Taddeo, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Media Des Moines told RAMP, “Wolfgang always made me smile, even just passing in the hall on his way to the studio. His energy made a fast impact on our station and on me personally. I will miss his fervor for all things Iowa sports.”
