Kate Scott: A True Warrior
• In celebration of Women’s Empowerment Month, Kate Scott, co-host of The Morning Roast on Entercom’s KGMZ (95.7 The Game)/San Francisco, the radio flagship of youuuuuur Golden State Warriors, will join an all-female broadcast of the Warriors/Chicago Bulls game on Monday, March 29. Scott will handle play-by-play alongside fellow broadcaster Mary Murphy, who will serve as color commentator. NBC Sports Bay Area’s Kerith Burke will host pre-and post-game coverage.
“I can’t thank the Warriors and 95.7 The Game enough for this incredible opportunity,” said Scott. “As a play-by-play announcer, you dream of getting the chance to cover the teams you grew up cheering for, but more often than not those dreams never realize. So, as a lifelong Warriors fan, to be given the opportunity to call Bulls vs. Warriors and get to share this special night with two talented women who I’m lucky to call dear friends… it’s unimaginable.”
Matt Nahigian, Brand Manager of 95.7 The Game, said, “I’m excited for Kate to have the opportunity to highlight her amazing talents. She’s a true professional and a shining example of breaking barriers in an industry that is male-dominated. The KGMZ team is proud to have her as one of our leaders, and we look forward to celebrating her achievements now and to come.”
Scott, a longtime Bay Area radio and television personality has worked as a play-by-play announcer, anchor, host and reporter for the Pac-12 Networks as well as play-by-play assignments for NBC Sports Networks and Stadium. Scott was the play-by-play announcer for the first-ever all-female NHL broadcast in the United States, is the first woman to call an NFL game on the radio and the first woman to call football for the Pac-12 Networks.
