• Alpha Media Sports-Talk KXTG (102.9/750 The Game)/Portland, OR announces its second staff enhancement in as many days — yesterday the station hired Dino Costa to do afternoon drive; today it was revealed that former afternoon co-host Justin Myers is moving to a new 9am-noon timeslot and will be joined by former Pacific University basketball star DeVon Pouncey. No stranger to the inside of a radio station, during Pouncey’s time at Pacific University he was a Production team intern for 102.9/750 The Game’s The Bald Faced Truth. He also produced and hosted an on-campus radio show called Vibin’ With Pounce on Boxer Radio. He currently hosts a weekly podcast, Wake Up and Win with DeVon Pouncey.
Alpha Media Portland OM Bruce Collins commented, “Alpha Media has shown once again that it believes in being live and local and is committed to winning across the country.” Myers’ former afternoon co-host Chop has been named APD and the new Executive Producer of Costa’s new pm drive show.
• After a weekend of stunting, Bicoastal Triple A KFLY/Eugene, OR flipped to Country yesterday as US 101. The new PD is veteran Northwest radio pro Pat Garrett, former MD/afternoon personality on CBS Radio Country KMPS/Seattle. The Premiere-syndicated Bobby Bones Show will lead off the day, followed by Angie Foster, who will track the midday show from her home base at sister KRKT/Albany, OR. Mr. Garrett will personally drive you home and serve as the lead-in for The Big Time with Whitney Allen at night.
