KSON Moving; What About Energy?

• Entercom Country 97.3 KSON/San Diego is promoting a frequency change at noon on Friday. The KSON website is inviting listeners to “Reset Your Preset” at noon, although the new frequency has not yet been publicly revealed.

The prevailing wisdom is that KSON will most likely relocate to 103.7, which happens to be the current home of CBS Radio Top 40 KEGY (Energy 103.7). If that scenario is accurate, there’s been no definitive word yet on what would become of Energy’s format and staff.

KSON was also simulcasting on 92.1 KSOQ/Escondido, CA, which is one of the three stations — along with KSWD (100.3 The Sound)/Los Angeles and WGGI-FM/Wilkes-Barre-Scranton, PA that Entercom spun off to non-profit Educational Media Foundation (EMF).
