Twin Cities Greet ‘New Cities 97’
• iHeartMedia Minneapolis just relaunched Hot AC KTCZ (Cities 97.1, Uniquely Twin Cities), this time as a hybrid of Hot AC and the station’s former Triple A format. The New Cities 97 will now play a mix of songs from artists its helped break over the years, like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay and John Mayer, now skillfully intertwined with music from a variety of top artists like Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Adele and Weezer, to name a few.
“We’re connected to the Twin Cities and we care about our community and the music we play,” said Rich Davis, Director of CHR Programming for iHeartMedia’s Western Great Lakes Region and PD of KDWB and Cities 97. He added, “Cities 97 was born in 1984 and now reborn in 2018 and we’re thrilled to grow and continually evolve with our listeners and fans.”
Davis will also handle middays on Cities 97. Minneapolis singer-songwriter Keri Noble will be heard weekday mornings from 6-10am, while Twin Cities radio fave Paul Fletcher will drive you home weekdays from 2-7pm, followed by Mollie Kendrick from 7-midnight.
