‘Gospel Diva’ Announces Retirement
After three decades of service to the Nashville community, Cumulus Urban AC WQQK (92Q)/Nashville humbly announces the retirement of its “Gospel Diva,” Connie Denell at the end of 2017. Denell has been with 92Q since 1983 and has hosted her Gospel Diva show since 1987. During that time she’s won numerous awards for her efforts, including a Stella Award and a NAACP Award as well as continuous recognition for her tireless work in the community.
Denell said, “When I first started this show, I brought flowers to every church in this city. We’ve been here for over three decades helping those in need in Nashville each week. I take your friendship and that of Cumulus Nashville as a blessing each week. I look forward to seeing you throughout the year at 92Q events.” Kenny Smoov, PD of 92Q said, “We’ve been blessed to have Connie Denell as part of the lineup at 92Q for over three decades. It’s been amazing to watch Connie’s commitment to the Nashville community. Stay tuned for details about events to honor Connie Denell before she says goodbye on-air on 92Q.”
