Cleveland Asks, ‘#WhoIsJeny?’

• UPDATED:  Yesterday we reported that Rubber City Radio had recently dropped the Smooth Jazz format on WNWV (107.3 The Wave)/Cleveland and was temporarily simulcasting Country sibling WQMX/Akron.

It appears that the station’s new format will be revealed on Friday, Jan. 3 — WKYC-TV reports mysterious billboards bearing the hashtag #WhoIsJeny have appeared across the area over the past month. According to the #WhoIsJeny Twitter account, “The Big Reveal” is happening Friday between 10am and 11am local time. Stay tuned.

Just a reminder that former Wave PD/afternoon talent Mark Ribbins, morning show duo Dan Deely & Grace Roberts, and midday host Carmen Kennedy are now available free agents.

Ribbins had been with station for a total of 25 years over two tours of duty, starting as a part-timer in 1991 working for the late PD Bernie Kimble under previous owner Elyria Lorain Broadcasting.
