CMG Miami: Party’s Over, Monet Exits

RAMP has confirmed two high profile afternoon drive departures from Cox Media Group Miami, as it was revealed that Rick Party has left Urban AC WHQT (Hot 105) and Felisha Monet has exited Urban WEDR (99 Jamz). No replacements have been named yet.

In a May 3 Facebook post, Party said, “Unfortunately, Hot 105 and I could not reach an agreement when it came time to renew my contract with them. They offered me a 3-year deal with terms that I simply could not accept. So, I had to push away from the table and walk on faith.” He added, “I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my life, which includes among others, a National Radio Syndication opportunity that awaits me. In the meantime, I’ll continue to entertain, enlighten, and inform you via my social media pages. On a lighter note, ESPN / Disney has made me an employee and I can be heard weekdays as the voice of SportsCenteron the television network.”

• Monet (right) is a 10-year WEDR veteran who originally hosted the station’s No. 1 night show, The Take Over, for two years before her elevation into afternoons in December 2014. Monet made her radio debut in the Tallahassee, FL market at WVHT (Hot 105.7) in 2001. She later worked for the former WBWT (100.7 The Beat) before joining CMG Miami.

Ms. Monet’s immediate goal is to launch a non-profit foundation called I Am Greater Than Yesterday, which centers around young women finding their purpose and passion, in life. Going forward, Monet can be reached at IAmFelishaMonet@gmail.com.
